Matubo introduced GemDuo beads in the Summer of 2017. Starman reached out to another factory in the Czech Republic to create their version of a MiniGem. These beads introduced in the Spring of 2020 have a similar diamond shape of GemDuo beads, but they have a raised bevel on both the top and bottom of the beads. They measure 5x3mm and are available only from Starman. In the late Summer of 2021, Matubo released the official Mini GemDuo. These miniature GemDuo beads measure 6x4mm and have flat bottoms, just like the larger variety. The Starman MiniGems and the Matubo Mini GemDuos are NOT interchangeable in beading patterns.
